Ever wondered which companies are really running the show across the African continent?
If you're a content creator, investor, or just someone curious about businesses in Africa, you know how hard it is to find solid data on companies in Africa.
I've spent countless hours digging through reports and databases to bring you this comprehensive list of the 100 most valuable African companies by market cap.
From telecom giants like MTN and Safaricom to pharmaceutical powerhouses and mining champions shaping the continent's economic future.
Let's dive right in.
Understanding Market Cap: What These Numbers Really Mean
Say I'm Aliko Dangote and I want to purchase a certain red bank.
How much would I have to pay to buy the whole thing?
This is the company's market cap!
Or in a more proper example, M-pesa stock is selling for $163 41 per share.
With their being around 46.3 million shares outstanding, multiply the two and you get that M-pesa is worth about 75.2 billion dollars.
And before you guys swallow me whole, the above is just an example!
It’s also important to know that market cap changes constantly and so do these rankings.
But without further Ado let's get started.
